Who Kayla Is

Kayla builds people-first, AI-enabled product organizations that modernize legacy systems, accelerate execution, and tie every feature to measurable business impact and customer joy.

She works at the intersection of digital transformation, technical product leadership, and execution at scale. Across FinTech, HealthTech, mortgage, and automotive, she has taken complex systems, fragmented processes, and cross-functional chaos and turned them into streamlined, revenue-driving platforms.

Today she holds two seats. At Toyota Connected she owns the navigation domain and the guardrails behind an AI voice assistant designed to support the over 400,000 daily Toyota and Lexus driver requests. At SageScreen, an AI-native candidate screening platform, she is Co-Founder and Chief Product Officer.

Part II

How She Leads

The most impactful product work often lives in the "boring unfun bits": systems, processes, and data pipelines. That is where Kayla focuses, on durable outcomes: faster delivery, better economies of scale, a better customer experience, and teams that trust each other.

01

Equally informed people seldom disagree

Most conflict is misaligned knowledge. She names every tradeoff out loud and does the groundwork one-on-one before the group decides, so the room arrives aligned.

02

Make the technical legible

Rules-based systems answer the same way every time. An LLM without rails can send you to a restaurant that closed six months ago. Plain stories like that align engineering, brand, and legal on AI guardrails.

03

Outcomes over output

She measures accuracy, adoption, cost, and customer joy, not roadmap checkmarks, and leaves behind the scaffolding that keeps outcome thinking alive: evaluation platforms, Opportunity Mapping, Agile Centers of Excellence.

04

Grow leaders, not dependencies

Stretch assignments over performance theater. She promotes from within for subject-matter expertise and delegates so she is never the bottleneck, which is how one team went from 3 to 11 in a year.
